Film The Revenant yang dibintangi aktor Leonardo DiCaprio berhasil menyabet tiga piala pada perhelatan Golden Globe Awards ke-73 yan baru saja digelar di The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, AS, Minggu (10/1/2016) waktu setempat. The Revenant berhasil meraih tiga piala untuk kategori Best Motion Picture-Drama, Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture-Drama, dan Best Director, Motion Picture.
Untuk kategori Best Motion Picture, Drama ,The Revenant berhasil mengalahkan film-film yang masuk nominasi seperti Mad Max:Fury Road, Room, Spotlight, dan Carol.
Leonardo Caprio yang bermain apik sebagai Hugh Glass dalam film The Revenant berhasil meraih piala Golden globe untuk kategori Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama .Pada kategori ini Leonardo DiCaprio yang terkenal ketika bermain di film Titanic itu berhasil mengungguli nominator-nominator yang lain seperti Will Smith ( Concussion ) , Michael Fassbender ( Steve Jobs ),Eddie Redmayne ( The Danish Girl ), dan Bryan Cranston ( Trumbo ).
Sementara piala untuk kategori Best Director, Motion Picture berhasil direbut The Revenant melalui sutradara Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu.Sebelumnya Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu harus bersaing dengan nama-nama seperti Todd Haynes ( Carol ), George Miller ( Mad Max:Fury Road ),Tom McCarthy ( Spotlight ),Ridley Scott (The Martian) yang masuk nominasi.
